Respite

Respite

Are you the main carer looking after a loved one at home? Over time, being the sole carer can take its toll and it’s vital that we all take a break. We find that many families feel guilty for wanting to have a holiday and tend to keep putting this off. At Beulah Vista, we know that we cannot take your guilt away, but we are confident that your loved one will be cared for to the highest standard.

We want to know how you care for your loved one so that we can learn and follow this at Beulah Vista. Our pre assessment process for respite is exactly the same for any resident moving in so that we get to know as much as we can about that person. Our ‘My Life Story’ helps us to capture the background of each resident, which is completed before someone move in. This information is shared with the team so that when a resident moves in, the team can help them to settle into Beulah Vista.

Whilst you are away, we can send you pictures and updates to your phone to let you know your loved one is safe and happy.

It can be disruptive for our current residents when we support those staying for a respite period. Due to this, our respite stays are a minimum of four weeks.

Rehabilitation

At Beulah Vista, we offer a rehabilitation service to those residents that require support following a fall or a stay in hospital. We have an in-house physiotherapist that will provide 1:1 support 2-3 times weekly, depending on needs. Your care plan will capture the exercises that the physio recommends so that the care team can also encourage this, aiding a quicker recovery.

Our wide corridors allow a team member to support side by side when carrying out mobility exercises. We also have a physio room that we use to rebuild and gain strength. Our nutritious meals contribute to healthy living and our chef will talk with you directly to find out how to support you during your stay.
